As a child, I was proud of my neat handwriting, but I couldn’t help noticing that many of my classmates struggled with messy, hard-to-read writing. What I observed as a student became even more clear during my years as a middle school language arts teacher: handwriting plays a key role in a child’s overall academic success.

Over time, I realized that many of these challenges were connected to learning differences like dyslexia and dysgraphia.
